Programer / Software Engineer and Research assistant all rolled into
one:
The Bonneau lab is looking for a programers to participate in two
projects, one project aims to develop new systems and databases for
annotating genomes by predicting the 3d structure of proteins and
another project is aimed at learning cellular circuits from data.
Interested parties should contact Dr. Bonneau with a brief description
of any previous programing or software-engineering experience and a CV
(details about languages, length of projects and outcomes should be
included). Two letters of reference should also be sent. You will
expected to participate in a research team comprised of people
spanning several levels of experience from high-school-kids to crusty
old professors. The project includes web programing, Java, Python, UNIX/Linux, SQL, and a
bit of R. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing a
database and associated tools (the tools include network
visualization, analysis that learn from data, links to external
resources and query engines). We'll want you to take part in the
science and learn a bit of machine-learning, statistics, etc as you
go, but we're primarily looking for people with experience in
programing. If you are hard working, smart and intellectually flexible

name on papers and send you to cool conferences).

Human Genetics Program
Research Technician Position
The NYU Human Genetics Program is seeking a Research Technician. We are looking for someone with 3-5 years of experience with microarray technology as well as at least 1 year of experience with Affymetrix DNA SNP chips, including sample preparation, quality control, hybridization, data transfer and data analysis experience with Affymetrix and Partek software. Familiarity with PLINK and other software is desired. Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
