This is a brand new halal restaurant that is next to a
new Masjid. I tried the lunch buffet and thought it was
good. This is a nice place where you can sit and have a
waiter take your order or you can do carryout. Be sure to
show your support. I do not know of another halal restaurant
within 25 blocks of Al-Baraka.
Take the 4,5,6 to 59th St.

Take the 6 train to 28th St. to get to these restaurants listed below that are around Lexington and 28th St.
Niamat Kada Restaurant

New York, NY 10016

This place serves Pakistani/Indian/Bangladeshi cuisine.
I thought the tandoori chicken, the bread, and the plain and brown rice were good.
Some of the other stuff was a bit too spicy for me.
One thing this restaurant needs to improve on is to keep their food hotter instead of microwaving it
anytime someone orders something.
Joy Restaurant

Park Avenue)

New York, NY

I had a hamburger pizza delivered to me and I have to be honest
and tell you that it was horrible. Incredibly greasy and it appears
that they topped it with kabob meat. I think their cheese pizza is ok though.
Ok, I made a trip over to this restaurant and tried their chicken parmesan. It was not too bad. Their
pizza also did not look too bad. I think it could just be they don't know how to make a hamburger
topped pizza. I think the place is ok overall though I am still not happy with the service.
The following restaurants are near Masjid Manhattan(Warren St. Masjid). Take the A,C,E to the Chambers/World Trade Center Stop.
Pakistan Tea House
176 Church St. (near Warren St. Masjid)

One of the better places in Manhattan. I recommend the
chicken tikka(the red chicken) and the chicken masala(chicken in an orangish sauce) which I think
is the best entree there.
