Director Bios
Dan Eckman
Dan Eckman has been writing, producing, directing, and editing short films since the age of 15 and his work has been screened at numerous film festivals across the country. A 2005 graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a B.F.A in Film and TV Production, Dan is the film director for the sketch comedy group Derrick with whom he has made dozens of short films. His 35mm thesis film Checkout is currently on the festival and won the award for Best College Short at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival. Dan is currently the in-house editor and videographer for Blue Man Group and his work has been seen on the 57th Primetime Emmy Awards and the 2005 Billboard Music Awards among others.
Dominic Dierkes
Dominic is a stand-up comedian, improviser, and writer who has been performing at the UCB Theatre since 2003. He's studied improvisation with Matt Besser, Ian Roberts, Armando Diaz, Michael Delaney, Peter Gwinn, and Paul Scheer. Dominic can be seen performing sketch comedy with the Wicked Wicked Hammerkatz (ECNY Best Sketch Troupe 2005) whose three sketch revues have all enjoyed runs at the UCBT. He also improvises with the Merchants of Chaos and the Harold Team, Mailer Daemon. Dominic holds a BFA in Film and Television Production from New York University and is a nationally touring stand-up comedian. He loves Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Nintendo.
