Top 10 Songs To Listen To When Life Sucks
10. Billy Joel - "My Life"
"I don't care what you say anymore, this is my life
Go ahead with your own life, leave me alone"If that doesn't say "screw you" to the world in the most diplomatic way possible, I don't know what does.
9. Drowning Pool - "Bodies"
"Let the bodies hit the floor! Let the bodies hit the floor!"
Okay, so it's not exactly the pinnacle of songwriting, but it was a lot of energy and it really gets the adrenaline pumping, and influences you to throw expensive Ming vases at walls.
8. Green Day - "Minority"
"I want to be the minority
I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority"The song's really upbeat and can't help but bring a smile to your face. It's short, sweet, and succinct. And yet it captures angst so well, yet in a strangely happy sort of way.
7. Type O Negative - "We Hate Everyone"
"Some would say that we're biased
Accusations that we are racist
Well, shit comes in all hues
Now this means you
Cause things ain't always like they seem - We hate everyone"Pretty badass, if you ask me. I mean, I can't tell you how many times I've proclaimed that I'm not biased and that I hate everyone equally. Apparently, Type O Negative agrees with me.
6. Zorak - "I Wanna Kick Your Ass" and "My Heart Is Full of Hatred"
"My heart is full of hatred and loathing for your ugly faces and stupid clothing..."
These two songs are so short that they have to be played in conjunction with each other. But they're sung by my favorite praying mantis bent on world domination, Zorak.
5. Ben Folds Five - "One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces"
"Now I'm big and important
One angry dwarf
And 200 solemn faces are you
If you really want to see me
Check the papers and the TV
Look who's telling who what to do....
Kiss my ass"This song is everything I always imagined my life would be: that I'd be successful, able to smile smugly at everyone who said I couldn't do it or made my life a living hell. When I'm in my crappiest mind, I try to keep that in mind, and this song indubitably helps.
4. Korn - "Faggot"
"To a world that never appreciated shit, You can suck my dick and fucking like it!"
An attitude certainly worth espousing.
3. Geto Boys - "Still"
"Cause it's die motherfuckers, die motherfuckers, still"
People probably know this song better as the song played in "Office Space" as Peter, Samir, and Michael are beating the crap out of the printer. There is nothing that takes out aggression better than beating up office supplies beyond recognition.
2. Metallica - "So What"
"Well who cares, who cares what you do
Who cares, who cares about you"The song is basically about saying "screw you" to the entire world. It was so badass that it was banned in England! 'Nuff said. (If you want to find out why, download the song - some of the stuff mentioned in the song, I can't repeat here) 0:-)
1. Reel Big Fish - "You Don't Know"
The reason I love to listen to this song is evident in the first line:
"Well first of all, I'd like to say fuck off
(Fuck off) fuck off (Fuck off!)"Three minutes of basically telling people to "fuck off" and telling them to get their heads out of their asses - you can't go wrong.
