I Missed You I missed you. Your face, your eyes your lips your presence, your love you were not here and truly I missed you. I saw you I gazed into your eyes and still I missed you I gazed at those around us and then knew why I missed you I held you in my arms and thought you were too far away and held you tighter still so you could not escape and still I missed you I pressed your lips to mine and as I kissed you I realized your thoughts were too far away and once again I missed you I pressed your body to mine and our souls merged and I thought of the time we had been apart and though I had you with me I missed you and then we parted and from that moment you had one more piece of me and I missed that piece because I missed you I heard your voice that night you didn't have that much to say we parted, said our goodbye, I paused for a while, and began to cry, because all I wanted were words you forgot to say, "I missed you." back to poetry home
