Finland had Stalin almost at the same time that Japanese punks invented that great name. The Finnish Stalin only released one 7" ever, that's all. It's basically fast English-influenced punk rock. But it's raw, not like those slick Englishmen. The vocals are really raw too, it definitely has a hardcore feeling already. There's more raw uncaged youthful energy on this Stalin's one 7" than there is in a box full of English 7"s. Some of the members were just over 10 when they formed the band. They are like younger and rawer version of Ratsia and not as good musicians as those older guys in Ratsia... These guys were really young and they were full of energy, that's a fact! Half of the members went to Nukketeatteri after Stalin split up. |
