Reviews:

Despite hearing from a few different people how great Raw Power was live on their most recent US tours, I was definitely skeptical about hearing a new album recorded in 2000... I can't think of any 80's hardcore band that had either gotten back together or "returned to their roots" and still sounded as good as they did in the beginning. Sure enough, Trust Me is a throwback to Screams From the Gutter-era Raw Power. However, it really isn't as bad as I thought it would be - the band is able to recapture the catchy, rockin' quality (if not the manic intensity) of their previous material. To its detriment, the production on this album is a little slick and the singer sounds a bit too much like Roger Miret; I'm also not too fond of some of the lyrics ("Woman get me a drink"? Come on...). For the most part, though, the songs are good, and they even throw in a Circle Jerks cover - a song off Group Sex no less.
