REVIEWERS / BAND HISTORY WRITERS:
This is here so if you read something on the site and you see someone's name by it, you can hopefully also get to know a little about where the person is coming from, etc. I guess I should mention that I'll ask someone if he or she wants to write something for here if that person has written a bunch of stuff (at this point that's 3-5 reviews or other pieces of writing), but that's just a guideline rather than something written in stone...
BÅRD I come from Norway and I've been doing booking at Blitz for four years. I'm giving it up now however to focus more on playing in a band, which has been neglected as the booking aspect has taken too much of my time. I write for KFTH to dig up the unknown old bones of the Norwegian underground which I feel has been unfairly put aside in hardcore history.
BEN PARKER I live in New York City and go to school here. I put out a hardcore/metal zine called "Voices Wake Us..." and sing in a few bands. Some bands I like: THE MISFITS, DISCHARGE, NAILBITER, RAW POWER, CRUDE, FEAR IS THE PATH TO THE DARKSIDE, NEGATIVE APPROACH, CARCASS, and CONFUSE. Record collectors are pretentious assholes.
BRIAN GTA A Los Angeles area resident, I started listening to punk and underground music well over twenty years ago. I was so impressed with Chris' enthusiam for old hardcore that I decided to contribute several band biographies to the site. I run a reissue label called Grand Theft Audio with over fifty releases from early punk and hardcore bands from the 70's and 80's, with many more releases on the way.

BOY Real name Adlan Farazi and everyone calls me Boy. Born in 1978 and I'm from Malaysia. Formed a band called Disasterfunhouse, I run a small distro & zine called Unquestionable, run a DIY record label as the sub-branch of Commitment Records (http://www.poisonfree.com/commitment). I support DIY ethics and human rights. I listen to HC punk since late 80's or early 90's (in between). I love to listen to fast stuff from early HC bands from Boston, DC to NYHC youth crew stuff, even power violence, trashcore, grindcore or fastcore. You name it... anything fast is ok with me. I contribute some of the Malaysian and Singaporean bands here (also others if you notice my name). Here's some of the bands that have been on my list for my whole life: Minor Threat, Manliftingbanner, No Comment, Life Sentence, Uniform Choice, Crucifix, Septic Death, Negative FX, Deep Wound, Jerry's Kids and many more. I found this KFTH page while trying to search some old HC band history/info on google search. I was searching for Youth Korps and Impact Unit history and I was so lucky to find this page and I'm happy with it. So I decided to contribute one day and here I am now. If you're interested in trading or getting to know more about Malaysian, Singaporean and Indonesian HC punk stuff, just e-mail me at: xcommitmentasiax@yahoo.com
CARLOS I'm a boy from Mallorca (Spain) and I'm an All Schools lover. But without a doubt I choose the the early 80's like the gold hardcore era. I do vocals in a band called MALLORKAOS. We recenly put out a 7". I wish it arrived to your city!
CHRIS HUBBARD Was born in '79. I update the site sometimes. Top three HC EPs:
Minor Threat - s/t
Poison Idea - Pick Your King
Koro - s/t
Punk LPs:
Wipers - Is This Real?
Wire - Pink Flag
Minutemen - Double Nickels on the Dime
Write to me at killfromtheheart@yahoo.com especially if you have a live tape or video of Balance of Terror you want to send me a copy of.
ERIK SOCIAL NAPALM Not much to say here really. I saw this page, was awed by it, and checked to see if i could possibly contribute to it. I love punk and hardcore and run a DIY label called Social Napalm Records that you can check out at http://www.geocities.com/socnap82/
FEDERICO GOMEZ I was born in Argentina but moved with my family to Israel when I was 11. I've been listening to punk/HC since 1988 and was involved in the Israeli D.I.Y. HC scene since it started in the early 90's. Currently I live in Sweden.
FOFFLE I'm 18 and I live in a shitty town in California where all the local punks are frequent Hot Topic shoppers and sport bands they've never heard cuz it's punk. I've been playing in a hardcore punk band called Throat Oyster since I was 11. For info on us, check out http://www.throatoystercrackhouse.com (it'll be done soon). My goal is to spice punk up a bit as everything sounds so bland these days..and to fuck shit up and get away with it! hahaha. PEACE OUT!
Some bands I listen to: Sick of it All, Varukers, 25 ta Life, the Exploited, Discharge, Misfits, Ramones, Black Flag, Chaotic Dischord, Minor Threat, Madball, New York Dolls, Cro Mags,Circle Jerks, DRI, Slayer, Danzig, Motorhead, Assfort, Extreme Noise Terror, Cannibal Corpse, Ensign, Anal Cunt, AFI, Black Sabbath, Sinatra, Rancid (fuck anyone who has a problem with that!), Casualties and the Nerve Agents.
JAMES CORNELL I live in New Westminster, BC. My reasons for contributing to this site is because I'm a huge of fan of old school hardcore, especially old Vancouver bands like DOA and the Subhumans. Cruising the internet, I found it near impossible to find any info on most of these groups, so I'd thought I'd provide my own research and this page seem liked the best to do it.
JEFF WALKER Um, I helped start this site w/ Chris and now I live in Boston. Go Sox!!!jeff@mtncia.com
MARKKU Markku is my name (and punk rock is my game). I started to like punk and hardcore too late in my opinion anyway. That was the latter part of the 80's. But I guess I didn't choose my birthdate. Later I thought that I could get involved in something more than just consuming music. So now I'm involved with bands like Ep䪿rjestys and H䶿istys (that band is half Finnish and half Japanese...). I'm also involved with this Finnish fanzine called Toinen Vaihtoehto (http://www.punkinfinland.net), organize some shows and all that. If you have something to say or some questions, don't hesitate: episjack@hotmail.com
Finland is far away from everywhere and it's cold and dark here. That's why we have had some of the best punk & hardcore bands ever. And that's a fact.
PETER VAN GALEN I'm 23 years old and been into the early hardcore stuff since I bought 'Damaged' by Black Flag in '95. My hometown is Veenendaal, Holland. I don't like ANY recent stuff. Early 80's H.C. says what I feel and doesn't waste any time. So when I discovered KFTH I was really exited, and I'm glad to be helping out. I think so far I bought about eight records after reading a review here. Let's hope I can do the same thing for other people.
RHYS My name is Rhys, I'm from Perth, Western Australia. I am tired of bands from Australia and other isolated countries not getting the coverage they deserve. There is more to hardcore and punk than just America.
SZARAPOW From St. Petersburg, Russia. Can be reached at diyhc@yahoo.com - Website http://www.svinokop.narod.ru.
WERNER My name is Werner, 20 year old, I live in Porto Alegre, Brazil. My city has a tiny punk bands tradition, the only great 80's punk from here were Replicantes, and classic bands are completely unknown, much of the history of punk was forgotten in this place. Because of this, all I have comes from the internet (luckily I can speak a bit English and Spanish) and I have a growing collection of full albums in mp3, see the list here and mail me if you want to trade!! My favorite style of punk rock is crazy early 80's USHC like Gang Green, Urban Waste, Koro, Void. Free music for the punx!

THANKS A LOT to:
(I am horrible about adding everyone's name who's written with pieces of information, but if I forgot you, kick my ass and let me know)
