This site has information on the 80's hardcore punk scene in Athens, including photos and pages for several bands.

Bacteria Website
A punk/HC website from Groningen in the northern Netherlands. Check here for some old Dutch mp3s.

The Blitz counter-culture youth center, a staple of the Norwegian punk scene, then and now.

Bosse Sound Website
This site includes sound files from and information on a ton of Swedish bands.

Covers the origins of the punk scene in Brazil, written by Stuart Schrader, Ph.D.

Break My Face
This website covers late-70's and early-80's bands, each page has a pretty extensive band history (considering many of them are pretty obscure) and information on their releases.

Campaign For Musical Destruction
Partly in Japanese, partly in English, this site is another reference page for hardcore records with reviews - the focus is on the 80's, but it includes newer stuff as well. Seems to be under construction, but check it out.

1980's Chicago Punk-Hardcore
A great website documenting the Chicago scene in the form of photos, flyers, and most importantly, an online version of the Bullshit Detector zine. Brought to you by Marie Kanger-Born.

ClePunk Website
A great Ohio punk resource focusing on the Cleveland scene.

Contrast Hardcore Archive
This "Hardcore Archive" focuses on the mid-to-late-'80s US scene (i.e. "Youth Crew/Straight Edge"-type stuff). It's got a great selection of mp3s, interviews, photos, flyers, pressing information, and so forth. Nicely laid out too.

Dada's Music Pages
There is a wealth of information on the scene in 1980's Poland on this website, interesting even if you don't speak Polish.

Decline of Northern Civilization: Part One
This is an interesting article on the history of punk rock in Alaska.

Dementlieu Punk Archive
An excellent resource on punk from '76 through the late 80's. There's all kinds of stuff here that you won't find anywere else: interviews, photos, press releases, and other miscellaneous shit, such as the Washington DC Scene Archive 1980-1984. Do yourself a favor and check it out! I owe Obik a big debt for hooking me up with tons of shit for KFTH.

Distortion Records
This site has info on some classic Swedish HC bands like Anti-Cimex, Shitlickers, Mob 47, etc.

Early 80's Punk Rock Survivors
This website/newsgroup has a quite a few interesting photos, as well as an active messageboard and other interesting stuff.

Finland Punk Website
While I can't really figure out what the nature of this website is since I don't understand Finnish, there's some information on some old bands like M.A.P., Rutto, and Tampere SS.

Flat Earth Records
Run by Sned who was in Generic and Electro Hippies (as well as several bands in the 90's and beyond), there's some flyers and photos from the 80's on this site.

FOE Website
FOE started out in the 80's as a zine from Leheigh Valley, Pennsylvania. This site now documents that scene (from the early 80's to the present day), including discographies, photos, flyers, and more.

Fresno Punk Scene History '79-'86
A very comprehensive page on Fresno punk including information on bands active at the time, photos, discographies, flyers, and so forth. Run by Dale Stewart formerly of Fresno's Capitol Punishment.

Harry Baggs Online/Earwax Retro-Fanzine Directory
This website is an excellent resource on the New Jersey Punk/Hardcore scene of the 1980's. Besides an exhaustive listing of the bands at the time, there's other interesting stuff including profiles of prolific Jersey labels Buy Our Records and Mutha Records.

How North Carolina Got Its Punk Attitude
This is a well-researched article about the North Carolina punk scene, starting from its roots in the 1950's. You gotta get to the second page before it covered the hardcore scene of the 80's.

Iowa Underground Website
This site has a huge collection of information on bands from Iowa. The largest area of coverage is the 1980's, but the range of the site includes the fifties to the present.

Il Punk In Italia Website
There's a bunch of stuff on 80's Italian punk on this site; writing, photos, features on Wretched, Declino, P.S.A., etc.

1980's Italian Punk Video Footage
This site has footage about the famed Virus Squat in Milan, as well as a whole bunch of short video clips of 80's Italian bands playing live. The quality ain't great, but where else can you find this stuff?

Japanese Punk Website
While I can't read most of the stuff on this site, there are some links to scans of old Japanese HC records...

La Baciarlata Webzine
This site, recently started, covers hardcore in the '80s (as well as some current stuff). Interviews (in Italian) with members of Declino, Indigesti, Negazione, etc., as well as stuff on USHC.

local CHAOS
Named after the 1983 zine, this website is an online guide to the Ann Arbor skate and hardcore scene of the early 80's. It goes into great detail and includes many scans, flyers, mp3s, and other info.

Long Island Hardcore
This site has info on the Long Island, New York scene in the 80's, including bands at the time, zines, comps, and some sound files.

Malaysian Punk Scene Article
This is a good article that deals with punk in general in Malaysia, including a section on the origins of Malaysian punk. It appears to have been written for academic purposes.

Mutilated News Zine
This zine has been around since 1988. There's plenty of interesting stuff here about the scene in the Philippines.

No Cause For Concern
This site has the complete run of No Cause For Concern, a zine from Ottawa - nine issues from '82 to '84. It's beautifully laid out and there's plenty of interesting articles, reviews, photos, and more.

Ohio Hystairical Musick Society
A great resource on the Ohio punk scene, run by Zero-Defex' Jimi Imij.

Oi! - The Truth
This is the notorious Gary Bushell's history and defense of the Oi! Movement, written in 2001.

Old School or No School
Among other stuff, this site has tons of reviews (almost 2000), including lots of stuff from the 80s.

This website is a great resource of information on the punk scene in the Philippines in the 1980's.

Punk History Canada
This website is a resource of information about the bands, people, and places of the Canadian punk scene from 1977-1987.

Punk & Oi in the UK Website
Although much of the focus on this site is the current scene, in the interviews section you can find lots of info on 80's UK bands. (It might be a little hard to navigate, so here's a shortcut)

Punk Rock In My Veins
This is an excellent website with detailed information on about 50 bands (mostly European) from 1976-86.

Punk Rock Picture Sleeves
An incredible number of scans of 7" sleeves from the late 70's to 80's on this site. Every band, from every country, ever. Also check out the gig flyer scans.

This website is dedicated to the early 80's punk scene of Reynolds High School in Victoria, BC.

Among other stuff, this site has a good section on the '80s Brazilian scene (which was a big help when setting up this section on KFTH).

Snack Ohm Tapes Website
Snack Ohm Tapes released the Tsjernobilly Boogie LP among other things. There's a bunch of good writing about the early Norwegian scene on this site, as well as reissues of their old catalog.

SThINK Webzine
This Italian webzine has an interesting feature on old Italian punk/HC 7"s. This link goes to the English language version, but I believe there's one in Italian as well.

Tian An Men 89 Records
Find here an amazingly extensive discography of Asian punk (excluding Japan), covering eighteen different countries! Also, the label has released a "Discography of Eastern European Punk Music 1977-1999" book.

Wipeout Records Website
Started in '86, this record label released several important Greek punk and hardcore records in the 80's, and continues to this day. There's a history of the label on this site, as well as profiles of the bands whose albums they released (in both Greek and English).

You Are The Scene Website
A page documenting the Montreal hardcore punk scene covering 1978-1986. Includes pages for a bunch of notable bands, with biographies, photos, discographies, and other info.

The name says it all... I recommend the "Discography of American Punk" and "Where'd You Find That?!" Also has the Punk 8-Track Discography you've been looking for.

Discographie du Rock Francais
A huge list of records released by French bands. Includes obscure hardcore shit. Much of the discography information on KFTH was taken from here.

Flex US Punk and Hardcore Discography
By far the best resource for discography information on US punk releases. Includes tracklist, pressing, and reissue info on official, bootleg, and compilation releases. Plus it's easy to search and has a little review about each record. An amazing site, without which Kill From The Heart would have been impossible.

Punk-Discographie 1977-1984
This site compiles discography information on German, Austrian, and Swiss bands, including tracklists and small cover scans.

Vinyl-Punx.de
This website is a great discography reference on Deutsche-punk from 1977 on. It's organized by bands, labels, and compilations, and it includes pressing information, cover scans, and tracklists. Also features a small section on Finnish punk.

Faster and Louder Online Mix Tape
This is really cool: 180 minutes of great music by dozens of great bands from the 80s - lots of hard to find stuff too. Although not a subsitute for a "real life" mix tape from your friend, this is the next best thing (and 100 times more accessible to people around the world).

Love Underground Visionary Revolution
This internet radio station rebroadcasts old MRR radio shows from the 80's on Thursday evenings.

MRR Radio
MRR started out as a radio show in the Bay Area, and they've recently brought the show back on the air (over the internet). Check here every week for a new show.

Sonic Overload Radio Show
Al Quint from Boston's Suburban Voice zine has a weekly radio show playing only the finest in punk rock from the last 25 years. Check it out live Monday nights or listen to the archived version of the show.

I've been told that you can find tons of rare hardcore recordings with this filesharing software (as well as computer viruses), but I've never actually used it myself - Compact Discs are about as hi-tech as I get...
