¡ESTOY TAN CONTENTO! EP
1985
Their love for speed is still present, but more rhythm changes are used, and even some danceable bits (like the slow part of "Estoy tan contento!!"), and more emphasis is given to melodies -for instance, in the unstoppable "Locura de juventud," which is very evocative-, sometimes very catchy -the instrumental parts in "La Historia," the bass in "Cadena de odio"-. The overall sound, however, is weaker, not as sharp and edgy as that achieved in the first tape (the same happened to L'Odi Social and Subterranean Kids: these bands were unable to capture their true live sound on vinyl). Good lyrics, as usual, only better; picks: "Locura de juventud", some thoughts about the short life of youth movements, and "Cadena del odio" (by Silvia "Resorte"), which paves the way to a new phase of the band.
-FERNANDO

An offbeat mixture of melodic mid-tempo awkward punk and hyper-speed thrash accented with heavy Spanish vocals. Tempo changes are quick, powered by demanding, clever guitar licks. Seven songs that are kept to a fast pace and a potent foreign hardcore feel.
-Martin Sprouse, from MRR #39, August 1986

Those who expect the hell-attacks from the tape will feel a bit disappointed. They're still fast as hell, but clearly not with the same radicality. Some jazzy passages are introduced instead, which is interesting in any case, 'cos the boys can play that, too. The sound quality is not the best imaginable, but good enough to show that GRB is the best Spanish combo.
