Reviews:

This record continues in the style of the Warning 12", with far more blues-based solos than before, palm-muted lead riffs, and Cal's high-shouting over the traditional DISCHARGE structure. To be honest, these are two of my favorite DISCHARGE songs, because they are so catchy and have some of their best lyrics. Cal's whiny delivery works perfectly on lines like "Dying of exposure in the cold niiiiiiiiight," and "One foot in the graaaaave." I heard TOTALITÄR cover "Born to Die in the Gutter" in a raw-punk fashion, and it confirmed what I had always suspsected- a great song held back by a dated recording. DISCHARGE was trying to "move on" from their raw punk roots, but ironically, it was their earlier style that people would still care about twenty years later, and their later stuff is what sounds dated. Regardless, this is nowhere near as bad as The More I See or Ignorance, and I actually like it better than the Warning 12". Good songs are good songs, I say, and this EP's got 'em.
