In February 1982, rising from one of the most picturesque places in the Lake District, Ambleside, A Touch of Hysteria were born. Their musical talents way above that of the three-chord punk thrashers of the other Cumbrian bands, they got their musical roots from bands such as the Mob and the Southern Death Cult - even incorporating a cover of the Mob's "Witch Hunt" into their live set. Their demo, A Touch of Hysteria, was released in 1982. John the drummer left to join the chart band Lush, and after years of deep depression, committed suicide in 1996. |
