The Future of KFTH:

As anyone who checks this page as noticed, I haven't updated the site since April of 2004. Ever since then, Daniel Lupton (of Deep Fry Bonanza - thanks Daniel!) and I have been working to rebuild KFTH on a new server. Naively, I figured this process would take a few months, but this is clearly not the case! To get an idea of the data entry involved, consider the fact that there are about 2,500 bands listed on the site at the moment, then add in discographies, tracklists, compilations, lyrics, interviews, and so forth... In other words, it involves quite a lot of sitting and staring at the computer screen, and I can only bear to do so much at a time. While it might be easier in the short run to simply upload the html files from the old site, I'm taking this opportunity to reorganize the site using a database system that will hopefully make it easier to use, as well as eventually make updating the site a lot easier for me when it's finished. The new site will eventually be located at http://killfromtheheart.com

I had been considering moving the site for awhile, but there are two reasons why I finally went ahead with it: First, I finally ran out of server space on my nyu.edu account. While the new server is not free like NYU, it's not too expensive and has a great deal more file space. Second, I am no longer a student at NYU, and therefore the university has no obligation to continue to offer me free server space. This essentially means that someday without warning this site may disappear (though all the information is saved on my hard drive). I hope to have the new site ready before then, but who knows...

11/4/03: I first want to mention two fine recent CD reissues for early US bands: Colorado's The Frantix released the My Dad's a Fuckin' Alcoholic CD on Australia's Afterburn Records, and Minnesota's Willful Neglect released the 1982-1984 CD on their own label Neglected Records. And while I'm at it, I'm going to make a very long overdue mention of the UK's Artcore fanzine, who interviewed Kill From the Heart in issue #18 (along with some excellent articles on Rattus, the Adolescents, the Big Boys, and more).
