Rough and simple early NY hardcore/punk. Although the record has a discernable "New York" sound, musically it has more in common with mid-tempo UK punk bands than fast hardcore like Urban Waste or Cause for Alarm. They ain't the greatest bunch of musicians... but the first side, especially "Defy Standards," is pretty good. "They Take Your Money" is slow and boring. Not a crucial record by any means but it has its moments.
