These guys reach way down deep and pull out pure emotion along with their hearts. It may not be pretty with Guy's vocals scratching away and the guitars hissing and whinning but it's as honest as you can get. It's a hard record to get used to with its quirks, but it's finally gotten under my skin. Rites of Spring always seem to be on the frantic edge and still the tunes flow and the songs have stuck in my head. "I've found things in this life that still are real/A remainder refusing to be concealed/And I've found the answer lies in a real emotion/Not the self-indulgence of a self-devotion."
