Reviews:

Let's say your friends, or more likely, your sibling's friends, ask you "why don't you like pop–punk?" Your answer is that you think that those "neo punk" bands lack power and attitude. They may ask you to tell them a band that mixes catchy tunes with punk attitude and hardcore frenzy. You just need to answer "The Zero Boys!" When the Ramones lost it, the Zero Boys found it, adding a slam brigade (Germs, Circle Jerks) fist to the Blitzkrieg Beat. This Indianapolis based band managed to come with one of the best early 80's punk records, or one of the best records ever, period. Buzzsaw guitars, thumpering bass, hectic drums and superb melodic (yet not remotely sugary) vocals kick at you classic after classic tracks: "Civilization's Dying", "Forced Entry", "Drug Free Youth", in fact, all the numbers are equally pummeling (including the bonus tracks on the re-issues), maybe besides the weaker "Inergy". No punk collection is perfect, or even decent, without this one, and luckily for you, it's now available again in both formats. This band will remain underrated until all teenage bedrooms will have Paul Mahern's face on their walls.
