CODE OF HONOR
Beware the Savage Jaw Lyrics

BEWARE OF THE SAVAGE JAW
Decisions to make
Fight or die no mistake
Depression
Disease
Social plight with too big a mouth to feed
Hatred
And Death
Ruling class has just one thought for itself
Starvation
And War
Earth gets raped once more

What we do is not illegal - they told me
What we do is good for all - they said
What is left just doesn't matter - they told me
As long as right wins over all - they said
You don't know what life's about - they told me
You're too young to know what's right - they said
Nothin' like a morning after - they told me
If we make it through the night - they said

Beware the Savage Jaw, boy best you take care of yourself

Stranded in time
One place to go
Visions of death
I knew it was so
Passion of a killer
Gone out of control
No

I KILLED THE DOVE
There is a hunger on this planet, reflections of past
The dreams you thought were real last night were of night the last
The hunger's inside of you, distorting your view
Nothin' here but wasteland all wrapped up inside of you

chorus:
Why can't we see where our lives are and come to the change
Life, Death, Anger, Pain, Love, Hate, Pride, Shame,
Peace, War, Money, Power, Truth, Lies, Brave, Cower
I did it for Money
I did it for Love
I did it for Myself
I killed the Dove

Slaughter fills the air but that's nothing new
No one will take notice especially not you
Life outside seems normal the days they just pass
The dreams that felt so real last night were still nights of last

chorus

Why can't we stop all this senseless killing?
Why must children starve in the streets while others are so fat?
Why can't there be truth between us always?
Why can't we see where our lives are going and change?

DOWNTOWN
I was and am searching, for somethings to feel inside
When out stepped this little pretty thing that swallowed up all of my pride

She touched part of me, I turned around
She pulled me right down on the floor
Said "boy we're gonna go downtown"
And I could feel my body pass through hers like it was air
She said, "now Johnithin, you will never be scared"

I was and am learning, feeling nothing but pain
Life's interrupted with everything else, and everything is the same

She touched part of me, I turned around
She pulled me back down on the floor
Said "boy we're gonna go back downtown"
And I could feel my body pass through hers like she really cared
She said, "now Johnithin, you will never be shared"

My skin was fire, my eyes they could only stare
Ever since I had sung with my very first band, had I ever been so scared

She touched part of me, I turned around
She pulled me back down on the floor
Now tell me we're going downtown
And I could feel my body pass through hers like it was never there
She said, "now Johnithin, you will always be scared"

And if you think you can try and make it out on your own
Remember that little friend of yours
She will never leave you alone
You can't have me
Get off my back

EDUCATION
Education, what purpose could you have in mind
Would you teach me your truth about life
With this knowledge that you provide
And your hand as my only guide
Will I be the product of your free society
Or am I just an animal in the cage

And I begin to feel the pressure inside my head
The voice that tells me where I am going
All things I must want
And I relinquish control of my mind
I go through life programmed to be blind
I see my friends, they are all standing in line
I dream of the truth but I have run out of time

Rehabilitation, you know you have to force that peg to fit
Even if the set could never match
Taught to be free of deception, in your hand it's like an erection
and the jerk has been let off in the dark
And you know damn well that the light will never shine here
You ruined us, you took our lives and gave us nothin' but contempt
And in the process of our learning, we realized, we are no longer yearning
The truth is gone, and it never mattered who was telling it
It never mattered at all

And I see the hatred I have been taught
And I see no truth in anyone's eyes
I take control of my mind
And I abort this program I'm assigned
I see my friends, I knock them all out of line
I've got to find the truth but I hav erun out of time

Tick tock, time stops, shell shock, hop scotch,
Death watch, don't stop, disc jocks, live stock

Educate my ass
You're only killing with your system
You don't care what's right or wrong
You'll take it all until we give in
You never seem to mind who dies,
Who gets hurt, who needs help
It's very clear to us you're only in this for yourself

I shed the skin that was forced upon me
Under control I was never meant to be
All my fears have now gone past
Yeah, I knew they wouldn't last
And now my thoughts are all my own
My body is free and my mind is full grown
But time won't stand still for me
There is just too much death and misery
Now tell me why does it have to be this way
Endless lying, killing, night and day
Why don't you try, just come and walk with me
And now found only in death, life was meant to be free

THE BALLAD OF ONE-EYED JACK AND THE BACKHAND KID
Trouble at the door
Badland bodys had walked in
Silence filled the air
As they sad down and drank gin
The leader of the gang
Pulled up a stool at the bar
Looked down at the kid
Said "What the hell ya think you are"

chorus:
The kid started laughing, and spit in his face
The crowd, bored with drinking, tore up the place
The man at the bar said, as his face hit the floor
"All I said were some words, what the hell was that for?
Lighten up kid, it's only 1984"

Nights pass on by
The kid still sits at the bar
He talks to his friends
But he's not sure who they are
One-Eyed Jack at his left
Unnamed men at his right
Only one word was spoke
And they were ready to fight

chorus

You think the world owes you
There's no end to the debt
The show has just opened
And they ain't seen nothin' yet
No remorse in self pity
Your pattern is set
If hate is all you give then hate is all you'll get

TOO MUCH FOR ONE MAN
Blind submission
Reaction of mind
Indecision
Wasting of time

I'm not Free I'm not Free
Have I blood on my hands?
Have I blood on my hands?
I'm not Free I'm not Free

Realization
Forced desire
Out of my mind
Cross the wire

I'm not Free I'm not Free
Have I blood on my hands?
Have I blood on my hands?
I'm not Free I'm not Free
I'm not Free I'm not Free

Residing on judgement
A rightoeous disease
It was our choice
We did what we pleased

NOT IF I CAN HELP IT
chorus
Mesmerize me play me part of your game
Give me nothin' only part of you shame
Make me reason when you rhyme out my life
Leave me desperate with my pen and a knife

I try to think I'm civilized and standing on my feet
With my head on my shoulders and some sense of the street
Then I see the world reflecting in my eyes and what I see
Is an old man slowly dying from his life of deceit

chorus

My thougts are twisting in my head, my eyes are filled with pain
All I see is human life of which I am part of the chain
Which is rusting from the inside out, it's totally decayed
From the government that rules our lives it makes me so ashamed of myself

chorus

My life is going through some changes passing through the years
With my hopes and small ambitions only passing through my tears
And my feelings for the ones that never will see eye to eye
Endlessly appreciating all the light that's never gonna die

At least not if I can help it
HOUSE OF OTHERS
I'm tired, so tired

I feel the wheels moving forward to crush me
There's no force left in these bones to hold back any longer
Life goes forth and defends its ideals
And sets up shop in the House of others
Whose work is to destroy this shop
No shadows are left to hide the faces
Who wish to stay anonymous
Those who would wish to live outside the realm of others
Share no hope to surive in the ash
Made from the work of the House

No life outside the hands of guidance
No thoughts outside the House of others
No love between those who would care

Life seems perfect to those who would see the order of things
Those who throughout history ignored the muffled cries
Of the hngry and suffering
Those who raged war on their brothers
So they could retain ownership of the House
And then leave those brothers in the cold to die
No dreams are left to help each other grow
Some sleep always trying to find that dream
Searching for somethin' that was murdered so long ago

No dreams of what could be
No hope in the songs of the artist
No peace in the mind of man

The wheel moves forward as I begin to break
The force that remained is now gone
Life still goes on in its endless trial
The House still remains, its work not yet done
No faces are left that would hide in the shadows
Those who shared hope and dreams no onger exist
For there is no room for them in this House

This House built by man
Founded so many years ago
In a land called America

DON'T TELL ME
Don't tell me - about your petty problems
You should be the one that's hungry no chance for a life at all
Don't tell me - about your life's oppression
You should be the one that feels the frowing stages of depression
Don't tell me - you've really done it all
Or are you now too old to feel the changes that your mind is bringing?
Don't tell me - you're looking for some action
All the time the only thing that you ever feel is satisfaction

Don't tell me what you want to be
That won't change our history
If you want me to lie and tell you that you are all saved
Then I've just got nothing to give

Don't tell me - what you feel is the truth
Or is this just a phase that you are growing out of day by day?
Don't tell me - you are what is in fashion
It's too late now time is gone and there was no one ever watching
Don't tell me - you are just now beginning
You're only ending what was left behind for you
Don't tell me - you think I know it all
I've only now begun to grow and see what I'm to realize

Don't tell me what you want to be
That won't stop our destiny
If you want me to lie and tell you that you are the one
Then I've just got nothin' to give

In life's depth preception the change must come from us all
And with our own protection we don't have to be the ones to fall
If there is truth in you it could be in us all
And as like wind the change must come from us all

Don't tell me - about your latest sanction
What you feel is right through wrong decisions made of a lonely passion
Don't tell me - you think you've got it now
Now don't you wish for all the things you wanted all throughout your lonely years
Don't tell me - you're so political
Still the needs of a few are weighin' out the needs of very many
Don't tell me - you are all alone
There must be more of you that will share the pain of giving all

Don't tell me what you wanna be
That won't give your life what is free
If you want me to lie and tell you that you are happy
Then I've just got nothin' to give

WAITING ALWAYS
Here, here where I stand
Feel me reaching forward, take hold of my hand
I, am nothin' new
I've been waiting always

Touch of but my hand, my heart fills desires
As it beats, it sets the wind, that fills the sails, of your fire
My mind is variation, my soul is overcome
There is a life to be saved and a song to be sung

Yeah, take my hand
Yeah, understand
You can see it in my eyes, now
I've been waiting always

Holding on to moments that seem to fade
Face unknown turns to jade
I see your final vision, but it's not the same
You're leaving me now

NO ROOM TO CRY
Uncertain life, uncertain no room to try
Uncertain death, uncertain do you have to cry
Do you have to cry, can't you see with your heart
Why do you have to cry
Make room, make room, try
If you feel that we are danger
Crawling all around you
Look past the lies put up by man
Here no one's ever blind
Our eyes are seeing only beauty
Truth and strength are one in time
And all of time is one
This is your time

Uncertain life, uncertain no room to try
Uncertain death, uncertain do you have to cry
If you feel that we are hunger
Bleeding all around you
Reflect upon your life
Here no one's lost in time
Our eyes are seeing what they call pity
Death and life are gone once more
Once more the light will fade
In their eyes

I've seen my life in the light of greed
I've searched my heart, my mind it bleeds
My soul is torn in its search for the truth
My eyes they burn, they look for proof

There is no proof in the life that you lead
What they teach you as truth is lies that they breed
Anger is stored in the minds that are new
And the guilt of murder is laid upon you

Ther eis no truth in the teachings of old
There is no honor in the lies we've been sold
The game that's been played since the beginning of time
Has no place in the world
It's not yours or mine

THIS DAY
Society, gone bad by a poison seed
Leaders of the world, don't care about humanity
Here we are, we have the sight, but do we see
It's our choice, you and me
We have to know what we want, or we'll never be free

chorus
Where are we now in existence - Heaven or Hell
Is this the choice of the world or the greed of a few - Heaven or Hell
Ultimate evil or a gift from god
Exploiting the world, or is it just a job
Power corrupts, they know what they are
Satan's children . . . beware the savage jaw

Do you love it or hate it, the things that you see
No matter how you feel it's reality
Are we really free, are we the whores of their evil greed
R.I.P. - U.S.A. - Economy
What can you say on the judgement day
We're as guilty as them we gave it away

chrous

This is the day, hey hey hey hey hey . . .
This is the day

BEWARE THE SAVAGE JAW (reprise)
Decisions to make
How much more can I take?
Pretension
Hypocrisy
The light is on but still we cannot see
Sanction
And Trust
Not to yourself but them you must
Freedom
No more
Life cries out once more

What we do is not illegal - they told me
What we do is good for all - they said
What is left just doesn't matter - they told me
As long as right wins over all - they said
You don't know what life's about - they told me
You're too young to know what's right - they said
Nothin' like a morning after - they told me
If we make it through the night - they said

You are the Savage Jaw, boy best you beware of yourself

Cast out by time
No place to go
Visions are cheap like the rest of the show
Actions of a savior who's lost all his soul
