Band History, Discography and Scans contributed by Jürgen

Stress* were a punk band from the very north of Germany - the small town Schleswig. The band was formed in February 1981 by Thorsten Pietsch (vocals), Carsten Maltzan (guitar), Jürgen Maik (drums), and Wolfgang Möller (bass). They came out of the ashes of the punk-bands Zyklon B and V2. They all were around 15 and 17 years old when started making 'punk-music' in the early 1979. Their songs were in English and German and about their view of life and their problems in school, fucking nazis, the girls, the police...

Stress* had a lot of gigs in the north of Germany and decided to record their songs and produced it on their own on an 8-trace tape in September 1981. On Rock-O-Rama records, an independant label which was publishing early German punk bands, they released 15 songs on the self-titled LP Stress* in February 1982. Only a few month later they finished.

In that time the whole 'punk-scene' changed a lot (many people misunderstanding the words "no future" came along thinking they also are something like a punk) and with our LP-release we were "famous" enough to be established in their eyes and more and more it was no fun anymore to make music for these guys...
