This course is opened to graduate music students as well as to
senior level undergraduate students who have taken or are above the level of
intermediate conducting. Graduate composition, music ed and performance majors
may take this course without the prerequisite Intermediary Conducting. These
students should contact Dr. Ghezzo for acceptance.
The class will offer group and individual instruction, on a wide
repertoire, from Classic to Contemporary Music, and it will include the following repertoire:

Tchaikovsky - Fifth Symphony (doverpublications.com, $28.95)
I.
Stravinsky - LÕHistoire du Soldat ($19.75)
A.
Copland - Appalachian Spring ($14.95)
There is a $250 fee, collected for hiring a professional
group for two rehearsals and class final production.
Students will conduct the
ICIA Ensemble in two intensive rehearsals and a final production. See below

Final production will be videotaped and recorded.
Selected students may be invited to conduct in Eastern Europe
the Constanta Symphony
Orchestra, in Romania, in the Fall of 2008 or Spring
2009.
