Elysia Meghan Segal was born on April 30th in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At the age of 7 she moved to Orlando, Florida and was later bitten by the acting bug in her school's Drama Club, performing in numerous plays and holding the title of club President for 2 years. She also competed on the Speech and Debate team (Dramatic Interpretation and Duo Interpretation), qualifying first out of her district for the NCFL Grand Nationals Tournament two years in a row, and placing 5th in the nation. Elysia also participated in the school's esteemed ASPIRE Advanced Science Research Program, allowing Elysia to compete at the INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair two years in a row, and place FIRST IN THE WORLD in the Team division in 2003 with her project, A Study of Proteoglycans: Potential Biomarker for Congenital Hydrocephalus in the H-Tx Model - Phase II.
In September 2003, she enrolled at NYU's prestigious Tisch School of the Arts for college, where, over the next 4 years,she studied at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, CAP21's Musical Theatre Studio, Stonestreet Studio's Film & Television Acting Workshop, and at the Irish Ensemble Acting Program in Dublin, Ireland. She recently obtained a B.F.A. in Drama with minors in both Psychology and Irish Studies, and was also the President of the Tisch School of the Arts Undergraduate Student Council.
