I am academically interested in two related topics: the structure of the human faculty of language (linguistics) and how that structure can shed light on human nature (philosophy). I insert my research within the relatively new paradigm of biolinguistics. There, researchers on different disciplines work together to understand language (including its evolution) from the point of view of the natural sciences. As for my more immediate research interests in formal semantics and syntax, my foci of interest are mainly two: (1) interface properties like quantifier scope, polarity sensitivity, event structure, and information structure; (2) the internal structure of the DP and the CP.
