My research combines behavioral and computational approaches from psychology and economics with neural measurements using fMRI, in an effort to understand how people make decisions. Current work has focused on how the value people place on immediate and delayed rewards is represented in a common neural currency. One goal of my research is to build models of decision-making that can explain both people’s choices and the neural mechanisms of  choice at an algorithmic level. Another goal is to understand the different sources of individual differences in people’s decision-making.

In Fall 2008, I will be moving to the Department of Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania as an Assistant Professor.  I am currently looking for both a lab manager and a postdoctoral fellow, to start as early as Fall 2008.  If you would be interested in either of those positions, please send me an email.
