Bc. Pastoral 'Innocence' AM/AOS

(C. Mademoiselle Louise Pauwels x Déesse)

Awarded its AM/AOS in 1979, Bc. Pastoral 'Innocence' is a famous cultivar that deserves its status as one of the "classic" white cattleyas. It reliably produces fragrant 6-7" flowers that are almost pure alba, except for a slightly reddish tinge to the petals and a small distinctive "pencil" of magenta on the lip. The Brassavola (Rhyncholaelia) digbyana influence is readily apparent in the large, exquisitely fimbriated lip. Bc. Pastoral is an easy grower under standard cattleya conditions: very strong light, a well-draining medium, and plenty of water during periods of active growth.
