Paph. Julius

(rothschildianum 'Rex' FCC/AOS x lowii 'Burma Beauty')

Registered in 1914, Paph. Julius is a most distinctive and heavily-awarded primary hybrid that still remains enormously popular with the paph connoisseur. Like so many of the primary rothschildianum crosses, Paph. Julius combines the best features of both parents. Paph. lowii contributes the wonderful pink coloration, and Paph. rothschildianum bestows the boldly-striped dorsal sepal and overall size & stature. Paph. Julius is an easy grower under warm and bright conditions, and mature plants typically produce 4-5 flowers per inflorescence that may each reach 10-12" in natural spread.
