Phrag. richteri

When Phrag. richteri was discovered in 1994, it was not immediately clear whether it was a species or a natural hybrid. However, subsequent selfings have shown sufficient genetic homogeneity that most now consider it to be a true species, including the RHS. Phrag. richteri is closely related to ecuadorense and pearcei, but it seems to have the largest flowers of the group. "Phrag. amazonica" is a synonym, with "richteri" being the earlier-published and therefore valid name.
