Dude, I severely cut back on coffee consumption in the past few months in hopes of alleviating the headaches I was getting. I haven't had coffee in a few days now, and my headache is begging me to indulge in the corner store's super coffee. I'll be a monkey's uncle!
The French army has asked movie theaters in France to feature military recruitment advertising on popcorn cartons. The army recruitment office's communications spokesperson says targeting "where the young people are" is the best way to accrue soldiers. Normally I object to youth exploitation, and it seems a bit forceful to ask theaters to choose between a pacifistic / militaristic stance, but in this case I suppose it's a decent marketing plan.
It took me three years to realize that Harvey Danger's Where Have All the Merrymakers Gone? is a really, really good album (even if the intro to "Flagpole Sitta" is too similar to the intro of Blondie's "Call Me").
"I wanna publish zines. And rage against machines. I wanna pierce my tongue, it doesn't hurt. It feels fine. The trivial's sublime. I'd like to turn off time. And kill my mind. You kill my mind. Paranoia! Paranoia! Everybody's coming to get me. Just say you never met me. I'm going underground with the moles. Hear the voices in my head I swear to god it sounds like they're snoring. But if you're bored then you're boring. The agony and the irony, they're killing me!"
