Color me starstruck - I ran into Parker Posey at Kim's Video on Bleecker Street this evening. I also saw Ben Savage's character's friend from "Boy Meets World" at Mexicana Mama's in the West Village. I didn't accost either celebrity; though I do regret not telling Danny Aiello this afternoon that he is rad.
This afternoon, the school at which I work was taken over by actor Danny Aiello and a film crew. I wanted to tap him on the shoulder and say, "You rocked as Madonna's dad in Papa Don't Preach."
Michael Jackson's new album comes out at the end of the month! Hooray.
This is the new layout. As I mentioned before, its colors were inspired by a bowl of super crunchy Fruit Loops. There will be many photos on the way, new jokes, more reviews & essays, and, of course, always-updated films viewed and music pages.
The more I think about Rich Lanklater's newest film, Waking Life, the less I appreciate it. Watching it, I labeled it pretentious (I still do) and reviewing it further it's even more didactic and hyper-philosophical, which ends up making the overall film very flat and climaxless. Speaking of movies, Liza got me thinking about Snoop Dogg when she mentioned him on her blog, and I am even more excited to see his new film, Bones, this month. "Death Row is the label that pays me!" - Snoop
The design of Fireballs & Tsunami has not been updated since the Reagan administration. Therefore, I am prepared to launch my new design within the next day or two. Its look was inspired by a bowl of Fruit Loops. Stay tuned!
Last night Jeremiah and I stumbled upon an advance screening of Richard Linklater's new film, Waking Life, at United Artists. Being fans of the director, we finagled our way into the theater. The animated film, which features an ensemble of past Linklater characters (from Dazed & Confused, Before Sunrise, etc.), was thought-provoking and innovative, though I complain of the improper construction of narrative arc. Botchy balls. I hope you had a great birthday, Jeremiah!
