Went to the ole' doc today, and it turns out I have a low-grade fever and some sort of bronchial virus. Boo!!! My medicine warns not to drink caffeine. Harhar...yeah.
I helped Jeremiah in casting his movie today. Seemed like the actresses/actors, who were pretty impressive, were all waitresses/waiters. New York, New York.
Tonight was the Lincoln Center's Friends of Film screening of Sid & Nancy. I enjoyed the movie...and there was a free reception afterwards!! Despite the fact that three people spilled drinks on Jeremiah, it was a good time.
Storytelling is awesome. I've been thinking about it quite a bit since I saw it a few weeks ago, especially the film's final piece of dialogue (I contemplated mentioning it out of context here, but I feel it would still spoil certain narrative elements if you haven't seen it yet). Self-reflexivity is really effective - in American Film today, we watched a late 60s film called Medium Cool that is a combination of documentary and fiction, completely blurring the lines of reality and traditional film narrative. Pretty remarkable footage, lots of political messages to tear apart, and a seemingly accurate representation of socio-political crises of the time period.
If the world was made of candy, I wonder, why kind of candy should it be? Maybe sour gummy straws, or peanut butter M&Ms, or Good n' Plenty? Dentists would make out like bandits. Ah...procrastination is the finest catalyst for candy-filled thoughts. Yum! Hey, what about a world made of Nerf?
Class, work, and a conference meeting today. Productive, but not blogworthy. Thus I am leaving After the Fire lyrics...they are blogworthy!
She come rappin' to the beat, then I knew she was hot. She was singin', don't turn around, oh oh. Der Kommissar's in town, oh oh! You're in his eye, and you'll know why. The more you live, the faster you will die. Well we meet Jill and Joe and brother Tim, and the whole cool gang and oh they're rappin' here they're rappin' there but she's climbin' on the wall. It's a clear case, Herr Kommissar. 'Cause all the children know, they're all slidin' down into the valley, they're all slipping on the same snow. Hear the children! Don't turn around, oh oh. Der Kommissar's in town, oh oh!
Jeremiah, Candice, Devanshi and I hung out at the New York Comedy Club last night for some good entertainment. The set was three hours long and the dozen comedians were great! Devanshi is enrolled in a comedy workshop there, so we got a chance to chat with some of the performers. A great time was had by all. I recommend checking out the club.
One Point Zero compiles great news links, including this article which contains evidence (although, a bit sketchy if you ask me) of governmental conspiracy.
Unbelievable, more insults in the guestbook. First off, let me say logic dictates that if you dislike a page, then don't read it. Second, if you want to take something up with me, grow a spine and leave an email address, instead of an anonymous driveby guestbook signing.
