In celebration of my afternoon adventures in writing a paper on Scorsese's After Hours, I will share some crucial information with you. Folded up in the back of my grammar and citation manual, I discovered a print-out of some style advice my history professor distributed in class a few years ago. There is no evidence on this print-out of the origins of this information, but I assume it is from an old grammar or writing guide. I chose some of my favorites to share with you.

Don't overuse exclamation marks!!!!!!!
Contractions aren't necessary.
One word sentences? Eliminate.
One should never generalize.
Eschew ampersands & abbreviations, etc.
Be more or less specific.
Avoid alliteration. Always.
Who needs rhetorical questions?

There you have it. The irony is, I often employ many of the aforementioned grammatical and syntactical errors. Mistakes rule!

Saw Chris Batten's show at CBGBs Gallery last night. He's very good, you should go check out his website as well as his shows!

Graffiti in the East Village. American graffiti. Man, I use that caption for graffiti photos too much.

Damn yo, what a long day! Class, work, errands, schoolwork. It's going to be a super bustling and cah-razy next two-three weeks with four papers due. Baaa! Here are some more photos from my AMC movie-watching experience over the weekend.

My attempts at something Hitchcockean...

25 theaters...AMC Empire is huge! That's like, one theater for each time I've recently had the urge to watch the "babysitting blues" club sequence in Adventures in Babysitting.

Oh, come on that movie RULES!

Well, that was random.

Here's Jeremiah beating the system!

Self-explanatory?

Hitchin' a ride on the electric walkin' machine.

My my my ay ay woo! M-m-m-my sharona, m-m-m-my sharona.

A snowcone sitting in the street. Snowcone roadkill, as I shall call it.

Scenes from a mall / movie theater.

AMC Empire's lobby ceiling.

I bet Starbucks and Coca-Cola employees left these drinks sitting around in attempts at self-induced corporate popularity. Wait...they already are saturated in capitalist America. Hmm.

One more person attempting to escape the wrath of Manhattan's strange weather the other night.

Photos from the apocalyptic hurricane-wannabe lightning / thunder storm yesterday in New York (see previous day's post). It ruled!

There was a collective "What the hell is going on here!" for several minutes on Broadway.

It took a while for everyone to wipe the dust and debris out of their eyes and off of their clothes and skin.
