For a few weeks, I have been working as part-time editor of Club FreeTime, an online and print publication that promotes free and low-cost events in New York City. Not to shamelessly promote the magazine, but I really wish I knew about it when I moved to New York a few years ago as a freshman. There are free movies, live shows, and concerts every day in the city that I never really knew about. I like the job a lot, but I would like to find another part-time job and/or something fulltime. Someone hire me, please.
My computer -- and my sandals, and my toothpaste, and my CDs, and everything else I own -- is slowly becoming unpacked and set up. We got a cool place in Spanish Harlem last week, and have been scrubbing, disenfecting, and polishing like wild. The place was dusty and boasted a lot of bugs -- dead and alive -- upon moving in, but it's starting to feel comfortable now. I like the neighborhood and the building, but the five floor walk-up is problematic in moving boxes, suitcases, and heavy furniture up. However, just about everything is settled now and we look forward to decorating the place.
By the way, does anyone know an effective method of keeping baby roaches out of cabinets and closets? Yuck!
