All eyeballs are on you!

Last but certainly not least - Becca at the White Stripes show last week! She rules.

"Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits is a really, really good song. I want to play guitar like Mark Knopfler. Will someone teach me to play like Mark?

I want my, I want my, I want my MTV...

Man in Gray photos from Continental.

Man in Gray were awesome at the Continental last night! If you missed the show, they will be playing another rockfest on October 18th at the Acme Underground, also in the East Village. Becca and friends from Sarah Lawrence hauled it all the way into the city from Bronxville -- Becca, you rule! As usual, many photos were snapped, which I will blog soon.

There are a lot of great White Stripes photos surfacing on the web (visit Bryan, Laura, Christina, and Eva). Events like these tend to attract New York webloggers -- I could have been a dork and socialized through the crowd asking, "What domain are you?" but I refrained. Strangely enough, it seems as if many photobloggers held the same vantage point as I did at the concert, which makes me wonder if we were standing practically next to one other, oblivious to one another's weblogging identities. Yeah, I'm a dork.

I'm finishing up reading American Psycho. I read it last summer as research for some cultural studies papers I was writing, and since I missed Bret Easton Ellis' lecture and the screening of his new film in Chelsea last week, I figured I would read one of his novels as compensation for missing his talk. I thought Less Than Zero was a decent story (yet a horribly melodramatic film adaptation, except the Bangles' "Hazy Shade of Winter" cover as theme song and James Spader's usual yuppie jerk character) but much weaker than his later American Psycho, which, in my opinion, is quite amazing. I have yet to read The Rules of Attraction and Glamorama, but I feel as if I should have a full-time job before buying the non-necessities. The job thing will happen soon, hopefully.

Are subway fares really increasing to $2? Booooooo!
