Heeeeeeeeeeeere's Jenny! during the Man in Gray show at the C-Note a few nights ago. Damn, she's a bombshell.
Jenny and I taking a break from being loyal fans of the band. It's hard work, but somebody's gotta do it.
Yeah, that's right.
Can I tell you how excellent of a book The Bonfire of the Vanities is? I'm about halfway through, and absolutely impressed with Tom Wolfe's depiction of materialistic Manhattanites in the 1980s. I haven't seen the film adaptation, although I heard some negative things about it ... I'm waiting until I finish the book to rent the movie.
There's a record store next door to where I work, Academy Records, that is one of the best at which I've shopped in a long time. The staff is helpful (which stands in opposition to an article in The Onion from last year about record store clerks...good stuff!), the CDs are cheap, and they have a great variety. I was especially impressed when my month-old query about a Berlin CD from the 1980s was solved -- "Did you say you were looking for this?" -- one of the workers remembered I had asked, tracked it down, and put it aside for me. I've bought over twenty albums there this month, a notion that normally would give me the shakes, but they were all inexpensive at Academy. In any event, I very highly recommend checking the place out. Or else I will make you buy me everything on my evergrowing Amazon wishlist. Muhahahahahahar!
