Mikaila Mariel Lemonik ArthurServiceMikaila
has just ended her term as the student coordinator for the New York
University
Sociology Department Workshop
on Power, Politics, and Protest, a forum for students and faculty
to discuss and receive feedback on their work. In the department, she
has served as a co-chair of the Graduate Student Association and has
also been part of the annual graduate student conference, the graduate
curriculum committee, and the job placement committee. In the
university, Mikaila has served as a leader of the orientation for new
teaching assistants.
In terms of service to the discipline, Mikaila is the secretary/treasurer for the American Sociological Association Section on the History of Sociology, for which she also manages the website with Eleanor Townsley. Her editorial activities include serving as an assistant editor for Sociological Forum and a reviewer for Teachers College Record, e-Sharp, W.W. Norton Publishers, and National Evaluation Systems. Mikaila is also a member of the Organizing Committee of GSOC/UAW Local 2110.  |
