Valley Place Ravine is located on the Raritan River, in Highland Park, New Jersey.

Valley Place Ravine was Highland Park's first Green Acres property. Although few residents know of its existence, it is a beautiful wooded area that is full of wildlife.

Last year, Water Watch created a trail that ran down from South Adelaide Road to the Raritan River. It is our hope, through a joint effort with Highland Park's own Clean Communities, to restore this area even further by clearing away underbrush, planting native plants, and putting in benches so that the residents of Highland Park can enjoy this spot.

This Water Watch project is headed by Michelle Huang and Jessica Gentile, who are both summer interns of NJ Community Water Watch. Michelle is an entering freshman at New York University, while Jessica is a rising sophomore at the University of Miami. Both can be contacted at any time for information or to answer questions. We will be teaching educational environmental lessons at local summer camps throughout the area, as well as hopefully tabling at some local events.

Volunteers are needed, so please call or email us with your name, phone number, and email address!
