Once
you set foot on the ground of Beijing, you can almost smell the scent
of long culture and history of this city from the hot summer air.
Standing under the high golden-roof of the Imperial Palace, staring at
the you-would-never-understood-calligraphy in the display, listening
guides explaining (in poor English) how one of the emperors had called
in to see the foreign ambassadors right at where you were just
standing, you can faint in any second.
