Notes On My Plagiarism Policy for Tech-8 You should always do your own work and NEVER copy from other students. Never directly copy text information from the Internet into your project work by "COPY / PASTEing" information into your work. I am more interested in your thoughts and evaluation of what you read on the Internet, not the exact "word for word" definition or explanation. "Any writing that you turn into me as your work, should always be in your own words" Indications to me that your work is not "in your own words", or may be plagiarism: - you use a word or phrase that you cannot explain to me, or you do not understand. - you copy a section or paragraph from another student's project and use it in your project. - your project and another student's project are "very similar" in some sections, where one would expect some variations due to "creativity" - you copy a paragraph or essential portion of information directly from the Internet and use it in your project, regardless of whether there are "minor" word "changes" - the "style" of writing is very different than in your prior projects, or work typically submitted by others in your grade level. Remember that just because you may (or may not) be required to "cite" a reference, for a given project, that you must not "copy and paste" information directly from the Internet or another student's project into your project. Work submitted that I have deemed includes plagiarism in the context of the assignment, will receive a lower grade, or a grade as per the school's policy. Regards, Mr. Silverman
