Copies will be provided in class, therefore do not print this rubric !
How to do the project:
- Choose a theme for your project, then select your
images. Please avoid using cartoons as a theme of your project. Images
must be appropriate for school.
- Save images as individual files in a separate image file folder on your
network account in your Tech folder.
- Edit / cleanup each image using an image editing program on your
desktop, preferably Photoshop Elements. Follow the 3 basic steps to a
better image (see notes below).
- Create a new document in MS-Word. Type your name, period, seat FIRST
at top of page. Then create an MS-Word table using Table
-> Insert. Do basic shading and borders before inserting
photos.
- Use MS-Word commands Insert-> Picture -> From
File to get your cleaned up images into your grid. DO NOT
USE COPY / PASTE.
- Resize images (for small adjustments) in your grid by dragging as is
necessary. Images that are too big should be resized in Photoshop
Elements first.
- Put finishing touches (any text, additional shading) on your grid.
- Print and check your work before handing in. Remember, we
will be printing in Black and White, so consider this when you choose
shading or colors.
Consider this: Google Image Search
or
use images from Picsearch. Three basic steps to a better image....
Photoshop Elements is a preferred image editor !
Make sure you follow the three steps for image editing and cleanup:
 |
Crop |
 |
Resize |
 |
Optimize (reduce file size by using Save For Web) where
possible. |
Reminders: You must cleanup all images before inserting them into your
MS-Word grid. Also consider using "Magic Eraser" for
transparency or "Painting" areas of some images to make them look
"cleaner".
See more information about graphic file formats like
GIF, BMP, JPG.
If you have extra time, you can try the other image manipulation
programs like MS-Image Composer or
MS-Photo Editor if they are available on your desktop.
