Your team will do a class presentation to explain your team's invention in one of the following formats:

Team presentation with PowerPoint or posterboard

"Network news" type broadcast

Show and tell (you must make a "non working" model of the invention)

Pre-recorded video (I must preview the video the day before it is due, must be recorded to a DVD that I can play in class - no tapes please!)

Your team is expected to engage the audience and check for understanding by:

Administrating a 'paper quiz' (see partial sample) at the end of the presentation (10 multiple choice questions which your team scores) -or-

Verbally 'quizzing' the audience

I will work with your team to decide which option is best, in class

Your individual grade will be a composite of the team's performance and your participation.

Presentation guidelines:

Participation by each team member is required!

Use what you know about making a good presentation (eye contact, facing the audience, voice level etc.)

Presentation must last at least 3 minutes - but no more than 5 minutes.

Must be coherent, scientific and informative.  DO NOT DO COMMERCIALS !

Mr. Silverman reserves the right to require teams to shorten or adjust the length of their presentations on the day of presentation.

DON'T GET TERMINATED! Your team must stay on topic and be serious.

Warning: Be advised that one team member may adversely affect the grades of all team members, as the presentation grade is a composite. The composite grade will be determined based on the team's overall performance, and each individual's contribution (or non-contribution) to the presentation.  See the rubric!

  Review rubric for the presentation

The use of visual aids such as 'props' or PowerPoint is strongly suggested and expected.  Do not use a 'prop' that will distract, insult the audience, or get your team fired.

Sort of obvious note: Team members who do not take this assignment seriously will receive a lower grade and will impact their quarter grade.  If your team gets 'fired', we skip the rubric and team gets an Instant Zerosm.

Instant zerosm is a service mark of Mr. Silverman
