(YDTNTPtm) You Design The Next Tech Project

Here is your opportunity to design a Tech project that your class will be assigned !

Guidelines for the You Design The Next Tech Project project

A detailed project description is required (Explain what is the purpose of the project, what it should look like, and specific procedures and guidelines on how to produce or create it) typed in MS-Word.
You must provide complete details down to things like acceptable fonts, format for citations, # of pages or # of slides.
Sample work or an outline of what the project would look like as completed is strongly suggested.
A rubric with at least 5 criteria categories (rows) and at least "Amazing", "Needs Work", and "Unacceptable" (columns) with maximum point breakdowns adding to 100 must be provided.
Most students must be able to complete the "designed" project in about 3-5 class periods, with some additional work at home or after school as needed.
Students are to use one or more of the software programs available at school, as necessary, that we have used in the past in class, or may create some other tangible deliverable that will fit in a standard briefcase or can be saved to the D13SHARE. (Example: oversized posters are not acceptable.)

Download the sample project description and blank rubric (as one file)

Submit your one page description and rubric (and sample if available) for consideration as an MS-Word document to me as an email attachment to my eCHALK address.

Other rules and fine print:

Students who submit project(s) that are selected for use in class will receive either extra credit points on an individual project, or tech bonus coupons, at the discretion and decision of the teacher.

Students agree that any projects submitted, if used in class, become the intellectual property of the teacher, without further consideration to the student.

If projects that are "very similar" are submitted by different students, credit, if any, is awarded to the student who submits the written description and rubric to me first.  I will go by the date / timestamp of an email as the official time received.  One "entry" per student, please.

The decision of the teacher as to which student designed projects are selected (if any) is final.  The teacher retains the right to decline to accept any project submitted for any reason, or to terminate this offer at any time.  This offer is null and void where prohibited by law.
