Nakata Yasutaka, for some reason or another, is the Japanese Produer/DJ on this list that is most hard to name specifically and yet probably the easiest to recognize by style. He has produced so many bands that sound essentially the same
that it's confusing to think about the reasoning behind not putting a recognizable label on each of them. These bands include Capsule (which has been around since the 90s), Coltemonikha, NAGISA COSMETIC, COPTER4016882, Perfume, and probably
a few others that I'm not familiar with. Each band has strong points and weak points, but Yasutaka makes this list due to his recognizable style.
Yasutaka had a strong influence in the formation of the Japanese "Bubblegum Pop" movement (as some people are calling it), which is an oversimiplifed, cutesy, generic, and often mystifying genre intended for girls. But the reason Yasutaka
is as influential as he is is because he's currently forerunning the development into this genre--particularly its descent into the older, grown-up club scene. His current work involves taking the old aesthetic and trasnferring it into another, dance-format that works for a different purpose,
and his mastery of technology and music makes that transition palletable and enjoyable.
