Welcome to my personal web page.  This site should provide you some insight into who I am.  I currently work in the Department of Residential Education at New York University (NYU) as a Community Development Educator (CDE).  I have been in this position since July 2003, however I am leaving the position at the end of the 2007 summer.

As a CDE, I was part of a team which cultivated community for and supports the residents living in Weinstein Hall.  Staff development and supervision of the Resident Assistants was my main responsibility.  Other aspects of my work included attending hall programs and activities, responding to various situations (e.g. roommate conflicts, vandalism and policy violations, emergency situations, etc.), and being part of departmental committees.  The best part of the job is seeing students learn and grow from their experiences (both positive and negative).

I have decided to pursue a new avenue in my professional career.  I graduated in May 2007 from New York University with a Master's in Global Affairs with a concentration in International Law & Conflict Resolution.  As such I am looking for opportunities to work within the field of international relations in some capacity.

About Me -  Back to Top

I grew up in Little Falls, MN which is located about in the middle of Minnesota.  I was an undergraduate student at Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) in Moorhead, MN (right next to Fargo, ND) and received a B.S. in Mass Communications (Advertising) during spring semester 1998.  As a student I was a Resident Assistant for two years, Student Orientation Counselor for two years, a Student Senator for two years, Advertising manager for The Advocate, and the Residence Life Judicial Officer.

I started an M.S. degree in Educational Leadership at MSUM during the summer of 1998 while continuing as the Residence Life Judicial Officer.  I completed my M.S. degree Fall semester 2002.  I worked for 4 years full time at MSUM as an Area Director supervising 20 resident assistants, 2 student managers, and was responsible for the overall operation of 3 buildings with a total of 700+ residents.  Click here to see some of the stuff I did while at MSUM.

In July 2003, I became a Community Development Educator (CDE) at New York University.  In this capacity I managed the programmatic experience within a first-year student residence hall (Weinstein Hall) at NYU for 4 years which included supervision of 30 resident assistants, 1 assistant community development educator, and overall responsibility for 550 residents.  I graduated in May 2007 from New York University with a Master's in Global Affairs with a concentration in International Law & Conflict Resolution.

On May 19, 2007, I married Kristen Lynaugh who is a fellow CDE and we enjoyed a wonderful NYC wedding and honeymoon to Maui.  I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends (particularly my adorable nephews Kyle & Todd, and niece Bella), meeting new people, learning, growing in my faith, cooking & baking (I make great cheesecake), movies, theatre, playing basketball and tennis, running, skiing (water and snow), using computers and technology, web design, and attending campus events.  Also, I have jumped out of an airplane; it was great and I'd do it again!
