General Introduction

The book is intended for nonfinancial managers. To aid nonfinancial managers in their efforts to gain some financial background, this site provides Excel templates that may be used to practice concepts discussed in the book. It also has a list of web-sites that contain information likely to be of interest.

Errata

1. Page 6. Figure 1-4. In the top box, "Profitability Tradeoff" should be "Liquidity Tradeoff". Thanks go to Mark Gniewek who found this error.

2. Page 81. Around the middle of the page. Just above the line starting "6. May 3." The words "Accounts Payable" just above the score line should be "Accounts Receivable".

3. Page 94. In the "Inventory" column under the "Assets" head, for Transaction 4, the "-15" should be "15".

4. Page 132. 12 lines from the bottom, in the paragraph that starts, "The first time a public stock", the abbreviation IPO is used, but never defined. Change "IPO" to "Initial Public Offering (IPO)"

5. Page 214. In the second paragraph under the "SHORT-TERM OBLIGATIONS" head. Fourth line of the paragraph. Change "real estate taxes," to "real estate,". That is, remove the work taxes. It is redundant.
