Well, I had my interview today. I honestly think it went well, I did pretty much the best that I'm capable of doing. They actually seemed really impressed with me, the fact that I'd interned at the Philadelphia Inquirer right out of high school. Then one of the guys asked where I'd learned Latin, and I told him high school, and he was like "What high school did you go to?" So, hopefully that's a good sign. I also had my writing samples with me right there when they asked me to email them - so I hope that made me look efficient and not too much like a brown-noser. And...I knew about Underworld and stuff. So, fingers crossed. I won't know until the second week of December, so I'll have to have them crossed for a while.
And in other news, my birthday is in 4 hours. I will be 20 years old. I find this vaguely frightening, but a little amusing as well. [8:00 PM]

I got an interview. I got an interview. Sweet mother of Jesus I got an interview OK now I'm going to panic and I was all hungry too and I have this pasta I wanted to eat but now I don't want to eat. I can't believe he wants me to come in this Friday. If I don't get it my birthday will be ruined. Well not ruined. Argh. Panic. Etc. [5:10 PM]

I just applied for a spring internship position with Mixer Magazine. My cover letter was impeccable and (I think) covered up the fact that I don't really have anything going for me except my ridiculous obsession for everything to do with music journalism. This month's edition of Mixer features Ladytron and James Lavelle. God, to work with them for a month, I would pay them.
But, anyway, the resume's in the (e)mail. My fingers are crossed despite my marginal hope and the disappointing odds. OK, see now when I get all excited, I can't even write for shit. It doesn't matter. It's done, and I will probably never hear back. But at least the possibility's there, dim as it might be. Now let's see if I can just forget about it. [10:41 PM]

Everyone who's having a shitty day raise their hands.
[Raises hand]
Good. Now go stand in the corner and bash your head against the wall until you feel better. [2:13 PM]
