Brief biography

Veronica Galea teaches video, web design and photography courses at the Deutsche Angestellten-Akademie (DAA) in Munich. Since April 2002, she has worked with the Xenos Programme at the DAA. The programme fosters tolerance among young people. On her own initiative and with the input of her students, she created the Xenos Projects web page which complements the main Xenos portal.

In May 2005, the Xenos-DAA Programme in Munich won third prize at a competition organised by the Shoah Founadation entitled, ’Remembering for the present and the future – tolerance wins!’. Xenos-DAA Munich, one of 280 projects nationwide, was given top-rating for innovation in the development of school projects by the Education Ministry in Berlin.

Veronica Galea was born in Malta. In 1994 she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Communications Studies and worked for several years in PR and marketing. In 1997, she moved to Colombus, Ohio where she took up an 18 month work/cultural exchange programme, and began to work in video. In 1999, Veronica moved to New York to begin a Master's course in Instructional Design at New York University. Her studies focused on the design and production of educational and instructional media for video and the web. Veronica relocated to Munich in November 2001 where she began freelance work in video and web design.
