The modern day Maradona, Lionel Messi has proved to be the player of the year so far. Not only has he hit top form, but players such as Samuel Eto and Thierry Henry have led Barcelona to an amazing thirteen game unbeaten streak which has seen them leap-frog to a 12 point lead over fellow Spanish giants, Real Madrid FC, in the primera division in the Spanish league. One would say with the way they are playing right now, it is near impossible to score a goal against them, let alone beat them. However, as we have seen in past years, they have a tendency to falter when it comes to the Champions League and that is why they have been rated as second favorites to win this years title. It will be interesting to see if this years final will be between the two favorites, Liverpool FC and Barcelona. That would be a final one would not want to miss!
